Ev Ting
Ev Ting was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Although one of AMMA’s premier amatuer fighters, amazingly he hadn’t trained in any martial arts style before he started training in MMA in 2009 under Hamish Robertson.
Just after six months of training, Ev was put into his first MMA fight at the ICNZ 9 event in Auckland, and won by guillotine. Shortly after that, he competed in the ICNZ Contender 2 submission grappling tournament where he placed second, competing with those who had been training in grappling for years. Not long after that, he was placed in a kickboxing fight with a veteran Muay Thai fighter on one week’s notice and convincingly gave his opponent a good challenge.
After 2 years of fight training, Ev is now a professional MMA fighter, and is being generously sponsored by NZMMA.
Ev is currently a University Student. When he’s not training, he’s into video games, web surfing, movies, soccer, and fine foods. AMMA expects great things from this up and coming fighter.
